Sports Massage

Sports massage is a specialised form of massage therapy designed to enhance athletic performance and support individuals with active lifestyles. Whether you're a professional athlete, a dedicated gym-goer, or someone with a physically demanding job, this treatment can help you achieve your goals and maintain optimal physical condition.

During a sports massage, I'll use a variety of techniques to address your specific needs, targeting muscle groups that are overused, tight, or prone to injury. This may include deep tissue massage, stretching, and trigger point therapy to alleviate muscle tension, improve flexibility, and increase circulation. By addressing imbalances in your musculoskeletal system, sports massage can help prevent injuries, enhance recovery, and improve your overall performance.

Remedial Soft Tissue Therapy

Remedial Soft Tissue Therapy is a specialised form of manual therapy that focuses on treating a wide range of musculoskeletal issues. This includes muscular imbalances, postural problems, chronic pain, and injuries.

The primary goal of this therapy is to alleviate pain, restore function, and promote overall well-being by addressing the underlying causes of discomfort in the soft tissues, such as muscles, tendons, ligaments, and fascia.

By targeting the root cause of your pain, Remedial Soft Tissue Therapy can help you achieve long-lasting relief and improve your quality of life.

TMJ Specialist Massage

TMJ massage is a specialised form of massage therapy that focuses on relieving tension and pain in the temporomandibular joint (TMJ), the hinge joint that connects your jaw to your skull. This treatment can be beneficial for individuals suffering from TMJ disorders, headaches, migraines, and jaw pain caused by teeth grinding or clenching. In your first session, I take a whole-body approach, recognising that tension in the jaw can often be linked to imbalances elsewhere in the body. Through targeted techniques, I'll work to release tension in the muscles of the jaw, face, neck, and shoulders, as well as addressing areas such as the hips and feet to promote overall alignment and pain relief. This holistic method aims to improve jaw mobility, reduce pain, and encourage deep relaxation.

Dry Needling

Dry needling is a modern therapeutic technique that involves inserting thin, sterile needles into specific points in the muscles, known as trigger points, to release tension and alleviate pain. While it may appear similar to acupuncture, there are key differences. Dry needling is based on Western anatomical and neurophysiological principles, targeting muscles, tendons, and ligaments to reduce pain and improve function. In contrast, traditional acupuncture is rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine, focusing on stimulating specific points along meridian lines to restore the flow of Qi (energy) throughout the body. Dry needling is often integrated with other hands-on therapies like massage, while acupuncture is typically a stand-alone treatment.
